Acacia Quartet – Full Moon Rising
Date: 23rd November 7:00pm
Venue: Allambie Orchard, Wombat
Bask in the moonlight with a picnic under the stars at Allambie Orchard. Historically, the full moon has been a time of enjoyment and this event, hosted by YRSM, is posed to be no different. The community is encouraged to gather with friends and loved ones with a moonlight picnic on the grounds overlooking the lake.
The Acacia Quartet has won great respect for their versatile and inventive programs which couple established repertoire with the unorthodox. They have recorded 6 albums, three of which received nominations for an Aria Award for the ‘Best Classical Album’ and APRA-AMCOS Art Music ‘Award for Excellence’. Their CD recording ‘Blue Silence’, the complete works for string quartet by Elena Kats-Chernin, and ‘An AIDS Activist’s Memoir in Music’, by Lyle Chan, have both received ‘Editors Choice’ in Limelight Magazine.
