I have been a tutor with YRSM for 17 years, teaching piano, cello and theory to students of all ages and from all walks of life.
I believe a combination of praise, encouragement, reachable goals, practise and performance will develop each student's confidence in their abilities and empower their love of making music.
I began piano lessons as a child but gave them up to finish high school, graduate as a trained nurse from Westmead Childrens' Hospital, marry, move to Young and raise a family of 3 boys. In later years, I was a regular organist at St John's Anglican Church and an accompanist and repetiteur for the Young Theatre Company.
I resumed piano studies at YRSM as an adult, receiving an Honours for Grade 8 Piano for Leisure and Grade 5 theory
In 2008, I picked up the cello for the first time and continue taking on that instrument to the present day under various tutors through YRSM. I am currently preparing for Grade 7 Cello exam in 2019.
